Power checks
Basic vehicle checks we need to make

POWER CHECKS
What are they? These are the checks every driver should make before making a journey, short or long. Making sure that the car is safe and lessens the chance of a break down or inconvenience.
P. PETROL
O. OIL
W. WATER
E. ELECTRICS
R. RUBBER
We all need to make sure that enough fuel is in the vehicle before the start of each journey
Weekly checks need to be made of how much oil the car is using, not only around town but especially on longer journeys
The water coolant needs to be checked each week other wise the engine may seize. We also need to check brake fluid - where the levels are and how to check them. The windscreen washer reservoiralso needs to be checked, which helps to keep the windscren clean and clean off those bugs that hit us head on!
Making sure that all the electrics are working properly, not only front head lights but other bulbs such as indicators, brake lights. The horn and other devices such as power steering also needs to be checked.
Tyres - probably the least thought of on a car, yet the most important. The maximum grip of a tyre on the road is less than a lot of people think, and this is why we need to be in full control of the speed and aproach whilst in general driving mode.
The correct tyre pressure for your tyres and how to measure it as well as how to check the tyre depth.
